Hewitt Public Library Maker Meet-Ups are events for makers of two age groups. At Maker Meet-Up, students can express creativity and individuality, learn and practice new crafts that incorporate multi-disciplinary learning, set their own pace, socialize, and have fun. No matter the knowledge or skill set, students are welcome to join Maker Meet-Up to engage in activities and be a part of the Maker Movement.
Teen & Tween Maker Meet-Ups welcome students to come and make with us on Saturdays any time between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Parent/guardian permission form must be signed upon first entrance.
Teen Maker Meet-Up: Ages 13-18, occurs 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month.
Tween Maker Meet-Up: Ages 8-12, occurs 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.
Schedules will be posted weekly on Facebook and library calendar, please confirm that the club will meet each week in case of any library closures or off weeks. Monthly themes & activities will be posted along with schedules. Teens looking for volunteer opportunities are welcome to volunteer during tween events, provided they have turned in a volunteer application, are a volunteer of good standing, and have coordinated volunteer times with the library’s volunteer coordinator, Kayla Pecina (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Some events may require students to bring an object to complete the activity, or the library may ask for a small fee in order to support the cost of materials. If this occurs any week, details will be posted on the library calendar so that parents and students are notified in advance. We hope to see you there!
